We have created an initial budget for the trip, which is here. As it stands now, we are looking at a trip of $1,000, which includes airfare and everything other than personal items. It may be possible to reduce this cost once airline tickets and rental cars are booked. We will possibly adjust the budget after the airline tickets and rental car reservations are confirmed.
Active members of the crew may reserve a spot, by completing and return the commitment form. This needs to be completed by both youth and adults alike. We will need one form for each person please. The form must to be returned with a deposit of $300. The form and money must to be turned in to the Crew Treasurer.

The summer trip for 2007 has been set. We will be taking a 2 week journey to Colorado between Saturday, June 30 and Saturday, July 21, 2007. The actual days may change slightly based on the cost of the airline tickets. The plan is to fly to Denver and rent vehicles. The actual itinerary for the trip will set by the participants, but will include several days of backpacking. We anticipate backpacking 8-10 days total, probably split between two locations. Other activities being considered include white water rafting, horseback riding, spelunking, mountain biking and kayaking.
We will be planning a couple of weekend backpacking trips in the spring to help determine equipment needs and familiarize everyone with backpacking. Everyone that is going on this big adventure will be required to participate in these weekend trips and be as active with the crew as possible throughout the year, this includes adults and Venturers at college. We will need everyone to participate in making this trip a success.
On December 26, 2006, we will freeze the size of the trip so that we can make reservations for rental cars. We have not set a limit on the size of the group. The limit will be determined by the number of adults that signup. There will be room for around 4-6 youth for every adult participant. We will do everything possible to insure enough adult support for the trip, but that will be the limiting factor. It is in your best interest to sign up early. In the event that we can’t get enough adults, we will be forced to have a waiting list based on when people sign up. After airline tickets are purchased, anyone that wishes to come on the trip will be doing so if space permits and also be responsible for their own airline tickets on the same flights as the rest of the crew..
